  4.     I was disappointed to read your item about the latest fad for
  5. Davy Crockett-style raccoon caps (BUSINESS, Jan. 23). The more
  6. people find out about how furs are obtained from animals, the more
  7. disgusted they become. Let's not revive fashions that cause animals
  8. to suffer. I believe we should make this a kinder and gentler
  9. nation for them too.

  15. already there, waiting with horrible steel-jaw leg-hold traps.
  16. There is no hope for the animals except in man's conscience, where
  17. there should be compassion and respect.
